Lake County Rallies to 7-6 Victory Friday Night

Zion, IL – Franklin Lopez had a sac fly RBI in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Chad Rebecca from third for the game winning run Friday evening. Lake County took game 15 from Kenosha by a final of 7-6.

Herman Petzold got things going for Lake County with an RBI single in the bottom of the third scoring Justin Smith. Smith ended the game going 1 for 3 with a walk, a pair of stolen bases and an RBI single.
Fielders starter Kyle Frets lasted only five innings, surrendering five runs on six hits while walking two and striking out three. He was relieved by Michael Martin whom also surrendered a run. Bryant Asnicar came in to pitch the 7th and 8th innings; with Adam Polston coming in the 9th inning to pick up the save.
Kenosha starter Randy Johnson didn't have his best stuff Friday. Johnson went six innings allowing six runs on six hits. Kenosha was led offensively by their number nine hitter; Kyle Frye. Frye went 1 for 3 with a walk, a stolen base and three runs scored.
The "Border Battle" series continues Saturday evening at 7 pm for game 16 at Fielders Stadium in Zion, Illinois. The Kenosha Kings currently have a 8 games to 7 advantage against Lake County with three games to go. Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night at the ballpark, so come on out for a chance to win $1,000.
